Industrial Electronics Technician (Level 5)

Industrial Electronics Technicians plan, integrate and install industrial technology systems. On site, they are responsible for the technical installation; laying cables or lines, assembling and terminating the necessary components. They test the systems, check safety measures, adjust components, commission the systems and instruct end users on correct usage. To prevent major breakdowns, they carry out regular inspections on industrial technology systems and repair defective technology.

They are also responsible for assembling, extending, modifying, commissioning, inspecting, maintaining and repairing electronic drives and power distribution systems. They troubleshoot assemblies and devices related to process control technology, as well as inspect, service and maintain pneumatic, electrical and electronic process control systems.

In addition to the tasks of an Industrial Mechatronics Craftsperson:

  • Assemble and install electrical circuits.
  • Integrate components and functions of technical industrial plants and systems.
  • Parameterize, test, commission and hand over technical industrial plants and systems.
  • Maintain, repair and optimize electrical installations in industrial electronics systems.
  • Check and assess protective measures for electrical systems and equipment.
  • Install and set up machines and drive systems, including pneumatic/hydraulic components.
  • Program and configure systems; test functionality and safety features.
  • Plan, assemble, extend, modify, commission, test, maintain and repair industrial electronic systems.
  • Hand over and document projects.
  • Process and monitor job orders efficiently and in accordance with established standards.
